Karl Reid
With nearly three decades of leadership in higher education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors, Dr. Karl Reid partners with organizations to expand access and opportunity in STEMM. A nationally recognized thought leader, he brings deep expertise in building coalitions, advancing equity strategies, and designing systems that foster student success at scale.
Karl has guided transformative initiatives across the country. At MIT, he served as Vice President for Equity and Inclusion, leading Institute-wide efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive campus. As Executive Director of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), he co-founded the NSF-funded 50K Coalition, a groundbreaking national effort to increase the representation of women and BIPOC students in engineering. He has also held senior leadership roles at Northeastern University and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), where he advanced research, innovation, and institutional capacity.
