Instead, we invite you and your nonprofit team to get enthusiastic again about your vision and goals. Working more strategically and mission focused will help put your social impact goals within arm’s reach and keep you from feeling bogged down with the day-to-day tactics that are preventing your organization from achieving long-term success.
Strategies for Success is Najera Consulting Group’s premier service for nonprofit organizations. We work closely with you in a one-on-one partnership to develop, clarify and implement high objective strategies that are aligned with your mission. Our collaborative process will allow your nonprofit to achieve a competitive advantage in the midst of a rapidly changing funding environment, and create long-term social impact.
If you’re like most nonprofit leaders, you want to quickly discover and work on the root causes of the problems your nonprofit is facing and plan out long-term goals for success, but you’re too strapped for time. You may not even know the right questions to be asking. Indeed, you’re likely faced with the following challenges that the Strategies for Success program is designed to address:
1. Attracting Sustainable Funding Resources
In today’s nonprofit environment, “selling” your mission to attract funding resources can be challenging. Funders (i.e. social investors) frown upon nonprofits that lack a solid strategy. And that cannot show they have the right program logic models and business model in place to successfully serve their mission. You may also find that your nonprofit is limited in its ability to achieve significant social impact (much less define it), which makes it more difficult to attract sustainable funding resources.
2. Board Related Issues
Filling board positions is only half the battle. Getting Board Members to really understand their strategic roles and responsibilities and to commit to govern and steer the organization are common problems within a nonprofit. Other issues are that boards either micro-manage or macro-lead. We are all familiar with micro-managing. Macro-leading is when leaders get so focused on setting strategy and vision that they remove themselves from the front lines, thereby developing a vision and strategy for the organization that is so out of touch that the rest of the organization fails to buy in, or worse buys in but is incapable of taking any steps toward realization.
3. You’re too strapped for time to think about the important details of your nonprofit and are bogged down with the day-to-day
More often than not, today’s problems are center-stage; they grab your attention. You find yourself missing opportunities because there is no time to plan for them. You are pre-occupied with the ongoing operational problems to be able to think clearly about the future of your non-profit.
If you’re like most nonprofit leaders, you desire making a difference thru your mission, sustainable funding, the pride and accomplishment of working together with your team, the ability to overcome challenges and the potential to reach your goals.
In Other Words, You Want To:
Our Strategies for Success Program gives nonprofit leaders the confidence in knowing that their organization is running at optimal potential. We work with you in a one-on-one partnership to develop and implement strategies that bring about transformational change and produce successful results.
We use a holistic conceptual model for thinking about effective ways to help you achieve the results you desire. We are your partners and confidants throughout the process, and our job is to see your organization succeed. Whereas other consultants just tell you what to do and leave you with a big report to decipher at the end of the process, we work with you in a collaborative partnership that dramatically increases your success rate.
We intimately work with you and your team to increase self-management and personal accountability of all involved in the process through practical, easy-to-administer tools that develop leadership growth and increased profitability. We coach and train you and your team to develop strategies that are easy to implement and action plans to become self-sufficient and competitive in your nonprofit sector.
We work closely with your governing body and executive team to set the strategy and planning for meeting all of the above. We serve as consultants, coaches and advisors, on-call as needed. We jointly establish the project timeline and implementation plan. We begin with a planning meeting and meet formally at least once a week. We will confer with you several times a week (daily, if needed) by phone and e-mail.
The Strategies for Success program has 3 different phases. Depending on the size and complexity of your business, each phase may last anywhere from several weeks to several months.
Najera Consulting Group stays with you and your team after completion of the Strategies for Success program on a complimentary basis for up to 3 months to ensure the successful implementation of your strategic plan!
Najera Consulting Group is a full-service, national management consulting firm that works with Governing Boards, CEOs and Executive Directors of non-profit organizations. The Strategies for Success program is highly effective for leaders in their field who are serious about taking their organization to the next level.
